The 2010 Ohio Knights of Columbus State Convention

... Informative as it was memorable, the conference was held in Cleveland Ohio this year - Our Council took home three awards - Most notable is the "Pope John Paul II Award" for the Council that could meet and exceed its charitable goals placed before them. - It was collectively achieved through our Council members grass-root efforts. The award itself is based upon "criteria specific" parameters of charity, much as those our founder Fr. McGivney's set forth. We would like to think this award measures up to the standards we so admired about Pope John Paul II.

This year, we happen to be the only Council in the state of Ohio that was acknowledged with this award. It is indeed difficult to achieve. We thank all members who helped with any/all events in any way, large or small. After all, our recipients of these charities are the real winners.

We would also like to thank all our past Grand Knights, as well as current Grand Knight Mike Houck for their foresight, directive, and focus put forth that lead into this fraternal year.

Paul Upman graciously paused for a photo with our two Council 11370 delegates Mike Houck and Bob Baltes, and District Deputy Bob Boyer.

All four men are current Maumee St. Joseph Parishioners. Paul (pictured second from left) is our current State Deputy. Paul as you know has been doing great work in his inaugural year as State Deputy. Thank you Paul!

We look forward to yet another great year with Paul at the helm of the Ohio K of C, as he has recently been re-elected. We pray with Paul for his continued success!

Pictured on the right is District Deputy Bob Boyer.

Bob will take on a slightly different role next year, as he will oversee K of C District Deputies within the Diocese of Toledo. Good luck Bob.
